Vision Statement

The DCSD English as a Second Language Program provides English language instruction on both academic and social levels to all second language learners of English. We want our ESL students, with the support of the school community (parents, students, staff and all classroom teachers), to become successful participants in American society.

Mission Statement

The mission of the ESL Program of DCSD is:

• To cultivate English language proficiency on both the social and academic levels
  

• To provide students with a balanced literacy program that provides access to and facilitates the achievement of Colorado and Douglas County's Language Arts Standards
  

• To foster cultural awareness
  

• To advocate for equal access to classroom content
