The Application Development Team is responsible for developing new systems that support the District’s strategic projects and for Tier III support, maintenance, and enhancements of the District’s existing enterprise systems.

DCSD uses Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP system.  Oracle E-Business Suite helps the District manage the operational parts of its business, including finance, budgeting, purchasing and inventory, human resources, and payroll.  The team is also responsible for enterprise systems that interface with the ERP such as Kronos ATM and Infinite Campus.

The team also develops new applications that enable the District to make better decisions and reduce the dependency on paper processes.

Major projects at this time include:

AppTrack Redesign
The redesigned AppTrack system provides all external candidates with a means to apply for positions and to enter, upload, and update application materials online. Hiring managers and HR staff will compare all candidates online, verify applicant information, store applications electronically, and export person and assignment information from AppTrack to Oracle HRMS once a candidate has been hired. Applicants wishing to apply to the licensed substitute pool will also apply using AppTrack. Phase II will incorporate the job posting process.

eBenefits
The eBenefits project is the development of an internal system for employees to specify their Health insurance options.  It enables employees to modify their insurance plans on-line both during Open Enrollment and as new employees.  It is directly tied to the HR system and is available to employees who qualify for insurance benefits.  It is also directly integrated with the Oracle Payroll system, eliminating many man-hours of work for the Benefits office.

Identity Management
Implementation of the Oracle Identity Management Suite automates the account setup and maintenance process for staff in key District applications, provides staff members with Single Sign On portal access to their applications, allows staff members to reset their own passwords across the board, ands add standard account authentication and auditing capability. Phase 2 will incorporate all student accounts and will be configured after the end of the school year.
